| Chief Cunningham Elected President of the Massachusetts Chiefs |
| December 11, 2008: Chief Terrence Cunningham was formally inducted as the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association President. The ceremony was held at the Wellesley Country Club, and was attended by both local and state dignitaries. Commonwealth of Massachusetts Govenor Deval Patrick opened the induction swearing in the Chief and making comments. Attorney General Martha Coakley also spoke. The Chief will serve as President for 2009. He has previously served in several keys area of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police. The organization has over 350 Chiefs of Police as members, and takes an active role in police issues in the Commonwealth. The Wellesley Honor Guard presented the colors during the event.
